Living Locally
No one knows your networks like you. You are uniquely called and qualified to live the Gospel in every relationship in your life.
More Than a Building
For many, the church is a place where they go to celebrate weddings and funerals. They know that people attend on Sundays, but have never considered entering the doors of a church themselves. Some may have attended on major holidays like Christmas or Easter, but not on a regular basis.
We know God has bigger plans for his followers than upkeeping a building, and that physical space can get in the way of the mission of God. Instead of meeting once a week, the Church lives in the everyday. Over meals, sports games, water coolers, and more, real relationships emerge. Conversations are fostered in backyards, over dinner tables, besides soccer fields, and out on the running trails that carry authenticity uncommon in a traditional church.
Jesus’ last command to his disciples was to go out into the world. We support, send, and equip everyday missionaries to find and fulfill their calling.
Everyday Gospel
You might be asking yourself, how does this happen? What kind of events would draw in every man, woman, and child in an city nearly everyday?
There isn’t an event. But there are relationships.
We live in a world that has consolidated economy and communication, while leaving individuals and families isolated. Every conversation is an opportunity to live and share the Gospel.
Over dinner tables, sports games, water coolers, and walks around the neighbourhood, the everyday ordinary routine can become extraordinary. Living the Gospel in our relationships and vocations allows us to discover our calling, and demonstrate with our lives how the Gospel changes us forever.
Your Neighbourhood
All around you are people: good, hardworking, hurting, anxious, and unsure people. Every single one is loved by God, who wants to be in relationship with them.
Every apprentice of Jesus is called to join God’s mission, living their lives transformed by the love of God. Authentically living in a new identity that demonstrates God’s love for others, and his heart to invite them into spiritual conversations ultimately leading towards Jesus.
We believe in living locally right where God has planted us. This looks like meals, backyard BBQs, times at the local playground, and a lot of listening. Through living faithfully, God opens doors for deeper conversation and real relationship.
Your Workplace
Many people spend 40 hours a week with others, collaborating, building, socializing. Deep relationships are formed as tasks are accomplished, but never go beyond the work boundaries.
You don’t need to leave your vocation to be a missionary. You are there for a reason, and through doing your work with integrity and Gospel, you can be a light. Others notice something is different, and spiritual conversations can begin.
Your School
Whether you are a student or a parent, schools are natural places for meaningful relationships. You already have a shared common goal and natural social interactions.
By listening to the deeper questions and concerns of those you interact with, there are real opportunities to meet needs and live on mission with others. Opening our homes and lives to others in real relationship fosters opportunities for Gospel conversations.
You don’t need to reach an arbitrary age to reach out to others; God gifts people of every age and phase of life to share the life of the Gospel with others.
Your Sports Team
Sports are an incredible social experience. Working together as a team takes a tremendous amount of work, listening and growth. It also provides natural opportunities to fail and grow with others.
Living and listening intentionally for others—and creating open space in your own life for others to see you and be heard by you—opens new doors. Incredible conversations happen after the game in a restaurant as you ask intentional questions to really get to know others.
You’re already invested in these relationships. God opens doors to show them what real Gospel life can look like through you.
